Three School Children have been injured while 87 others escaped unhurt when a wooden Church building being used simultaneously as a School collapsed at Nkawkaw-Kwamang in the Eastern Region after a strong rainstorm in the community .
Voice of Hope International, a Private School owned by the Assemblies of God Church was hit by rainstorm while School pupils numbering 90 were in class, but managed to escape with the help of their teachers before the entire building went down. However three of the pupils were hit and by falling objects.They have since been treated and discharged .
Pastor Gaspar James Amedzo -Principal of the School told Starr News the School has since been shutdown temporary following the incident on Monday February 18,2019. He said officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO ) visited the school for assessment.
The rainstorm also ripped off roof off five classrooms and Headteacher’s Office at Kwamang M/A Primary and Junior High School which has obstructed teaching and learning.
Meanwhile, dozens of residents have been displaced after their houses were ripped during the rainstorm.
