Prolific music duo Keche have released the official video for their brand new single titled ‘odo’.
The video comes weeks after the music group signed a $500,000 record and management deal with entertainment company GEM Media, which is a subsidiary of mining company Golden Empire Legacy.
The record deal came along with a three-bedroom apartment and two Hyundai Elantra saloon cars to ensure they are comfortable.
Keche, who broke onto the music scene some 11 years ago with their smash hit ‘pressure’, have dished out back to back hit records such as ‘sokode’ ‘aluguntugui’ ‘diabetes’ amongst others.
The duo have re-launched their career with ‘odo’ after a dip over the years. They have promised fans of better things to come, as their career has taken a new dimension with this new financial backing.
Speaking to Starrfm.com.gh during the official music video premiere at Accra-based 4syte TV mansion, one half of the group Joshua said “now that we are signed to golden empire legacy, now is when we are so much ready. We are so much ready because we were doing everything on our own and now we have some strong investors and we can do all we want to do.”
“We are so much happy that golden empire legacy is on board so we are going to record good songs, and shoot good videos,” he added
The other half Andrew speaking on staying relevant as musicians said “it about time and money. We are in Ghana and we’ve witnessed artistes make numerous hits, gone down, and bounced back again. Others have money but they still go down. It’s about the music, it’s about the time, it’s about the money. Keche is a household name, this year marks 11 years Keche came into the industry, and the brand is still intact.”
He added “hopefully goods things will come. We talk about music and how we present ourselves to the country, Keche is Keche. The brand is still solid, and we working harder.”
The duo revealed that under their new label, they have shot five music videos, two in Ghana and three in Dubai including ‘odo’.
On what is next in line for their brand, they said they have an album which includes 21 tacks featuring all genres, ready for release in due time. They also disclosed that they would want to hold annual concerts in and out of Ghana starting from Sekondi where they hail.
“The market is intact in the rest of Africa. Golden empire is like a moving train, the train is moving so fast and Keche is joining in,” they added.
‘Odo” was shot at Palm Jumeira Island in Dubai.
