The Free Senior High School Secretariat has indicated that the Computerized School Selections and Placement System was broken into by hackers resulting in fake slips produced by the self placement domain on the CSSPS portal.

Director of communications with the secretariat Josberta Gyan Kwakye told Starr News’ Eric Mawena Egbeta that slips particularly generated without any tracks and dates were signals of the security breaches experienced by the system.

She pointed out, “For all self placements that were done before Wednesday, we had some form of security breach on our system so some may be genuine and some may not be genuine.”

Making reference to one of the slips she explained, “for this one you can see that the person did the self placement with aggregate 35 but you can see track not available and the date is not showing.”

She also advised that parents searching for specific schools of choice for their wards manage their expectations as the system could only make available, schools with spaces for admission.

Giving reasons for some students with good grades failing to make it into their schools of choice Kwakye insisted that huge numbers competing for some specific courses in some grade A schools heightened the competition for exceptional grades muscled out several students.

Kwakye relayed that the system had successfully placed over 351,000 students in school expecting them to report for academic work to commence.
