The Greater-Accra Regional NPP caucus has donated large amounts of PPE, hand sanitizers, hand-washing soap, veronica buckets among others to Chief’s Palace, community centres and places deemed to have high human traffic in the region.

The items were given out through the party’s thirty-four constituency party branches to be given out to the target beneficiaries.

The gesture according to the party executives is purely a party programme but not targeted just at party faithful but the general community members.

Speaking to starfm.com.gh after the donation, the Greater-Accra NPP Chairman Divine Otoo Agorhom noted: “as a political party, we deem it necessary to also organise ourselves and give to the constituency parties so that they will be able to also give to the community where they are.”

He added “we are targeting chiefs palace, community centres, areas where the human traffic is high. This is purely a party programme and its national so we are also receiving from the national and other members of the party who are also donating to support the regional party.

“It’s for the community, but we are just channelling it through the structures of the party,” he stressed.

Mr Agorhom lauded President Akufo-Addo for his initiatives and urged citizens to support him by adhering to the Covid-19 safety measures.

“I think Ghana as a country we need to be happy and applaud the president with what he is doing so far. The world over, he is being celebrated. I think citizens should support the president by adhering to the measures.”

He added that “coronavirus will be history but we pray that by the time it becomes history you don’t become history alongside the virus.”
