The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Elikplim Akurugu, has doffed her hat to all men who have been supportive in her political career.
In a message on Father’s Day, Mrs. Akurugu said: “To all the men, who have had to make compromises to allow women to play leadership role from national, regional, constituency and ward levels under the Umbrella Family of the Great National Democratic Congress (NDC), we doff our hats to you.”

Father’s Day Message from Elikplim Akurugu
You’ve been shoulders for us to lean on in times of despair. You have been pillars of society and the vanguards in nation building. The root of the family system rests on your shoulders. Today, we celebrate you and want to let you know you’ve a special place in our hearts.
Fathers are a blessing to us, but it takes a special person to be a dad. To all the men, who have taken it upon themselves to mentor us politically, we appreciate you. To all the men, who are playing motherly roles in the family, we appreciate you. To all the men, who have had to make compromises to allow women to play leadership role from national, regional, constituency and ward levels under the Umbrella Family of the Great National Democratic Congress (NDC), we doff our hats to you.
To our affable leader, President John Dramani Mahama, who has been a great political father and believes in the capabilities of women, we ask for God’s blessings and guidance as you usher us into a new leadership of this country.
A big shout out to all the constituency executives of Dome-Kwabenya, especially the men, who have been so caring and supportive to allow me to lead the constituency in our quest to win the parliamentary seat come December 7, 2020.
Happy Father’s Day and continue being special.
