The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, says the December 7 election is a critical rescue mission from the abyss to which it is fast sinking.
Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch on Monday at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, the former President slammed the ruling Akufo-Addo led government for leading a family and friends administration and failing to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Mr Mahama, Ghana’s economy is in tatters with the current system benefiting a few Ghanaians and not the majority of the citizens.
“We must put Ghanaian businesses at the center of Economic growth. We must create equal opportunities for all Ghanaians businesses. It is only when Ghanaian businesses thrive that our economy thrives as well. It is time for renewal and coming together. It is time to end intolerance and social discrimination. It is time to end repression of the media.
“It is critical we rescue Ghana from the abyss to which it is sinking…the 2020 elections will be an election of destiny. It will be about the very soul of a new Ghana. The 2020 elections will be about our children and the unborn generation.”
“We will put an end to the vindictive targeting and collapsing of Ghanaian businesses. We have done this before. We have ensure the longest sustained period of single digit inflation.”
The Chairman of the Manifesto Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Danso Boafo has stated that the NDC’s manfesto is based on verifiable and reliable data.
Giving his remarks at the manifesto launch of the opposition party, Prof. Danso said the NDC’s manifesto titled ‘The People’s Manifesto’ was well researched and views taken from people across the country.
“Our manifesto is based on reliable, valid, and verifiable data,” Prof. Danso said, adding that the NDC manifesto has been categorised into six thematic areas that will be tackled if the party wins the December elections.
