Lead counsel for the GFA in the GFA vs Osei Kwaku at Court of Arbitration for Sports, Naa Odorfoley Nortey has revealed that some utterances in the past cost Osei Kwaku in his appeal case.

The president of Tema Youth football club was disqualified from last year’s GFA presidential elections by the Normalization Committee after which he appealed his disqualification at CAS but the world adjudicatory body recently dismissed his case against the GFA.

CAS in its ruling made references to a reported interview by Osei Palmer in which he attributed Ghana’s failed 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification to the FA’s failure to pay unclassified payments to match officials which is against the FIFA code of ethics.

Speaking on Starr FM’s Sports program, ExtraTime, Naa Odoforley stated that some of these unethical comments coupled with others led to the ruling with CAS. “He admitted that’s indeed by not paying that monies over as enshrined in the regulations of the Association he want to lead, he had acted inappropriately  these were his words and he apologized for that.”

“So you can imagine our shock and surprise when he was disqualified for been in breach of GFA statutes and also for not passing an integrity test because clearly some of his past utterances contributed to his defeat at CAS” Naa Odoforley told Starr FM

CAS dismissed all the claims of the Tema Youth Owner and endorsed the decision of the Elections Committee of the Normalization Committee to ban him from the Ghana FA elections.
