The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has written to the Electoral Commission demanding a refund of the filing fees its representatives paid for the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary polls.

Ghana’s electoral laws require the electoral commission to refund filing fees to candidates who attain certain thresholds after polls.

In a letter signed by its General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party provided the EC with an account number in which to refund the money.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will on Thursday, March 4, 2021 announce its judgement in the petition filed against the presidential polls by former President John Mahama.

Mr Mahama contends that, per the EC’s official declaration figures, no candidate obtained more than 50% to win the polls as required by law.
