Residents of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe, and Lololo (SALL) are likely to get representation in 2024, private legal practitioner Yaw Oppong has said.
A seven-member panel of the Supreme Court presided over by Justice Yaw Appau on Tuesday dismissed the application for review from lawyers of the interested parties from Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe, and Lololo otherwise known as (SALL).
The panel which also includes Justice Samuel Marful-Sau, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, Justice Amadu Tanko, Justice Yoni Kulendi, and Justice Henrietta Mensah Bonsu said the application failed.
The apex court panel of five on January 4, this year, unanimously quashed the decision of the High Court in Ho for injuncting John Peter Amewu, the then Member of Parliament-elect for the Hohoe Constituency from being gazetted.
But Speaking on the Morning Starr on Wednesday, Mr Oppong who was also part of the NPP legal team in the 2020 election petition said it is unfortunate that residents of SALL do not have a representation in Parliament.
“It’s very sad that some groups of people in Ghana may not have a representative in parliament…I’m very certain that in the next election, our good brothers and sister will be represented,” Mr Oppong told Morning Starr host Francis Abban.
