A man believed in his late 20’s has been found dead at the Winneba beach in the Effutu District of the Central Region.
The naked body was retrieved from the seas following a distress call about someone that had drowned.
Assemblyman for the Ndaama Electoral Area William De-Catha told Kasapa FM’s Yaw Boagyan that he had a distress call Wednesday morning that an unknown person suspected to have been swimming in the sea had drowned.
According to him, it’s been a long time something of that nature has happened in the area.
The deceased is unknown to the people of the area, so Mr De-Catha has appealed to the general public to help identify the family of the deceased. As of filing this report nobody has identified the body.
The Assembly Man advised the public to desist from swimming in the sea, even as government has banned people from swimming due to the pandemic.
The body has been deposited at the Effutu mortuary while the police have begun an investigation into the matter.
