The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has removed its 2020 elections flagbearer David Apasera and its national chairman Moses Danibah for misconduct.

Also, the general secretary for the party Janet Nabla who was suspended some weeks back has been reinstated.

According to the NEC, the meeting held on August 28 to suspend the General Secretary, Janet Nabla was null and void since a quorum was not formed per Article 45(3) of the PNC constitution.

Ashanti regional secretary of the party Sulemana Seidu made this known to the media after an emergency NEC meeting in Kumasi.

He said, “…that the NEC meeting of 28th august 2021 was not properly constituted pursuant to Article 45 (3) and as such that meeting is null and void and its outcome must be treated by all with the contempt that it deserves.”

“that NEC subjected the petition brought before it by the three [general secretary Janet Nabla, Ashanti regional youth organizer Nuhiru Mohammed, communications secretary for the North East region] and uphold all the accusation as truth. Consequently, Mr David Apasera and Moses Dani Ba are guilty of the accusation in the petition.”

He went on “that they are removed from their respective offices pursuant to Article 49 (A) 4 of the PNC constitution for misconducting themselves as prescribed in the petition, indefinitely.”

“That in their absence, the Greater Accra regional chairman shall act as the national chairman and leader of the PNC. Bala Saliu Maikanka shall act as the leader of the PNC until further notice.”

“That the general secretary is cleared to continue to conduct her function as stated in the constitution and she together with the acting national chairman should see to it that these requirements [suspensions] are carried out.
