The Communications director for Hearts of oak, Opare Addo has admitted that it will take hardwork and perseverance to win against Wydad Athletic Club convincingly on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium in their CAF champions’ league encounter.
Opare Addo believes the team will have to stay focus throughout the game if they are to secure qualification to the group stage of the competition.
Speaking exclusively to Starr FM sports, he acknowledged the self believe of the players, how highly spirited they are and that only determination can see them through this hurdle.
“We know what is at stake and the focus is very high, we know to be able to qualify, we have to hold it very tight, work hard and make sure our concentration is at the peak. This is exactly what we are going to do. We’ve played these North African sides before and when not many gave us the chance to beat Esperance, we went to Tunisia and beat them to break their unbeaten home record. It is not beyond us to do it again. We have self believe and to be able to do it, it will take hard work and we are ready for this battle” he said.
A win on Sunday for the Phobians will put them in a better place when they face W.A.C in the return fixture in Casablanca a week later.
Hearts of oak beat C.I Kamsar in the first round of the qualifier by two goals to nil at the Accra sports stadium to qualify to this stage of the competition where they face the Moroccan side.
