Head Coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Yusif Basigi says the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions league(CAFWCL) is not a must win but rather an opportunity to raise the image of Ghana.

The Ghana Women’s Premier League champions booked their tickets to the Champions league after staging revenge against Nigeria outfit Rivers Angles to win the WAFU B qualifiers in Ivory Coast earlier this year.

That trophy made Hasaacas Ladies treble winners following their Women premier league and FA Cup glory. Their success has contributed to the high expectations from football fans in Ghana with regards to their next hurdle, The Women’s Champions league which comes off on November 5 in Egypt.

The coach does not rule out their hunger for any trophy at stake but thinks it is an avenue to make Ghana proud.
“We are not putting pressure on ourselves to win by hook or crook but once I mention raising the image of Ghana high, it means a lot. It interprets a language. It means we have something at the back of our mind and we know what is at stake.”

The Takoradi based club has moved camp to Accra as they are currently training at the St. Thomas Aquinas school Park.
Speaking to Star FM Sports Basigi says his side is well prepared for the task ahead.
“Fortunately, we have moved from Takoradi to Accra so we have a sound mind to work. I’ve left other challenges to the management and have focused on the technical team. Initially we had two injuries Veronica and Milot. But Veronica is here with us and is about 70 percent fit. Milot will join us soon and I’m sure will be 70 – 75 percent fit by the time we leave for Egypt.”
Hasaacas Ladies have being drawn in Group A alongside Wadi Degla(Egypt), AS Mande(Mali) and Malabo Kings FC(Equatorial Guinea)
