Ghanaian boxer, Isaac Dogboe took another giant step in the quest of becoming a two time world champion after defeating Puerto-Rican boxer Christopher Diaz at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino’s Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas last night.

The fight which was an undercard was a very close contest as the Ghanaian won on the judges’ scorecard to be announced as a winner of the bout.

Two judges, Tim Cheatham and Don Trekla scored the bout 96-94 and 97-93 respectively in favor of Isaac Dogboe with Eric Cheek scoring it 95-95.

The bout started on an interesting note as Christopher Diaz worked well to avoid punches from the Royal Storm. Dogboe however, came strong in the sixth round after failing to catch Diaz with his punches in the first five rounds. He landed a right hand punch on Diaz twice in the sixth round.

The former IBF 122-pound champion at the end of the bout triumphed over Christopher Diaz who was hoping to come back after he lost to Emmanuel Navarette in April.
