The Ofori Panin Senior High School in Kukurantumi in the Eastern region will on November 27, 2021 celebrate its 60th anniversary at the school premises.
The school which was founded by Ghana’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah was formerly known as Tafo-Kukurantumi Senior High school.
The anniversary spearheaded by the old students association in collaboration with the school’s management launched the celebration on Friday, October, 22nd with a breast Care Talk & Screening from Obaa Panin Dr Beatrice Wiafe Addae, Chief Executive Officer, Peace and Love Hospital, Kumasi.
As part of the anniversary’s week-long celebrations, there was an Inter-Houses Fun Games and Exhibition which was held on Saturday, November 6 at the school’s premises at Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region.
According to management, on Monday, November 22, 2021, there will be a courtesy call on the Okyehene, His Royal Majesty Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin at his Palace, Kyebi and also a clean-up exercise at New Tafo-Akim Government Hospital and The Community Hospitals Limited, Kukurantumi-Akim on Tuesday, 23rd November.
The activities will also include a Float through the principal streets of New Tafo-Akim and Kukurantumi, on Wednesday, November 24, “there would be Film Show In the evening of Thursday, 25th November. On Friday, 26th November, Old Students of OPASS (Mpaninfo) re-unite with a Home Coming Musical Bash at the Royal Balmes Hotel located near the Opass campus “
The grand durbar which is scheduled to climax the 60th Anniversary will take place on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 9.00 am on the OPASS Football Field.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be the special guest of honour and His Royal Highness Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin the King of Okyeman will be the Chairman of this auspicious occasion, Obaapanin Professor Dorothy Yeboah Manu, an old student of OPASS and the Director, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana, Legon is the Guest Speaker.
Highlighting the activities, the organisers revealed that, the evening after the durbar, there will be a Live Musical Concert, which will have the Legendary Pat Thomas and Akakyie to thrill attendees at the Royal Balmes Hotel located near the Opass campus.
On Sunday 28th November 2021, 8:30 am there will be a non-denominational thanksgiving service at the OPASS Assembly Hall.
