Parliament has on Wednesday, December 15,2021 approved the 2022 budget estimates for two ministries.

The Transport and Railways Development Ministries have had their budget estimates approved by the House. The House unanimously approved a total sum of GHC921,843,000, 00 for the services of the ministry of transport and its other agencies for the year ending 31 December, 2022.

Moving the motion to the plenary, the Deputy minister for Transport, and MP for Upper west Akim, Fredrick Obeng Adom explained that, the ministry would be paying compensations GHC70, 298,000, goods and services GHC 157,184,000.00 Assets GHC 694,361,000.00.

GHC575,970,000.00 was also approved for the ministry for services of the ministry of Railways Development and its agencies for the year ending 31 December, 2022.

Moving the motion on the floor, the Railway Development sector minister, Mr John Peter Amewu took his time to break down the budget estimate as follows, Compensations GHC 5,291,000.00, goods and services, Ghc13,037,000.00, capital expenditure, Ghc 557, 642,000.00.

Mr Amewu explained to the House how important the Railways sector is to the President  and would do everything possible to achieve the purpose for which the amount has been assigned.
