Speaking to Starr FM Sports, Captain for the Women’s National team, Nina Okorafor attributed their inability to qualify for the World Cup on poor preparations.

“We didn’t prepare enough, I think if we knew what was ahead of us and we had enough support from Government and Corporate Ghana, we would have prepared alot more adequately but as it turned out, our preparations was not enough and so that ended in the Ladies getting a bronze and the men coming fourth in Africa. But we are very sure with the experience we have gathered from this we will be a lot more prepared for subsequent championships  whiles we hope that Corporate Ghana and Government will also come on board to support” she told Star FM.

For the Men’s Category, the Ghana Men’s team missed out on the bronze Medal after loosing to Cameroon by 11-12 for the third and fourth position. The Algerian men side also for the 4th consecutive time won the African Championship after going on unbeaten in the tournament.
