2022 FIFA world cup Preview: France vs Denmark

France will continue their title defence as the battle Denmark on Saturday, November 26 at Stadium 974 in Rass Abou Aboud at 16:00GMT.

The defending champions were off to a brilliant start when they came from behind to beat Australia 4-1 at the Al Janoub Stadium on Tuesday night. Goodwin’s opener for Australia was short-lived as Adrien Rabiot headed home the equaliser. Olivier Giroud scored a brace to become Les Bleus’ joint all-time top scorer while Mbappé continued his goal scoring run with a fine finish.

Elsewhere, Denmark were held to a blank draw against Tunisia at the Education City Stadium.

Interestingly, France’s latest defeat was handed to them by Denmark in the UEFA Nations League last month. Les Bleus’ only two wins in their last five games were against Austria and Australia.

Lucas Hernandez is undoubtedly out of the rest of the competition as he tore his anterior cruciate ligament during the champions’ win over the Socceroos

His brother, Theo Hernandez will take the mantle against Denmark. Giroud will be looking to  set the record of France’s all-time top scorers with a goal.
