French Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain will host record winners of the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid on Tuesday night as both clubs aim to have an upper hand in the first leg encounter of the round of 16.

PSG finished behind Manchester City in Group A with 11 points to book a ticket to the next round while Real Madrid topped Group D with 15 points to progress to the round of 16.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men after beating Stade Renee 1-0 on Friday will be hoping to beat the visitors who eliminated them at this stage of the competition in the 2017/2018 season.

Los Blancos on the other hand have also lost in the round of 16 in two of their last three Champions League campaign and will be careful against a side that has Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar who are all ready for the game.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have won six, drawn three and lost seven of their last 16 away games against French Ligue 1 clubs. Real Madrid, who currently top the Spanish La Liga have also won four, drawn three and lost three of their 10 matches against PSG in all competitions. In their last three two-legged knockout games, PSG has won two of those encounters.

Neymar Jr is back after recovering from an ankle injury but he is unlikely to start. Sergio Ramos and Ander Herrera are out of the game due to calf and and thighs injuries respectively.

Karim Benzema is expected to play a role in the game with Ferland Mendy who has been declared fit.
