The Manager of the Agotime Kpetoe branch of Goil Company limited, William Attiklu has sued the Agotime-Ziope District over its failure to pay debts owed the fuel station.

According to the manager of the fuel station, the Assembly owes the company a total of Forty-three thousand, four hundred and eighty-eight Ghana Cedis and ninety-three pesewas (GHS43,488.93) accrued from the purchase of fuel on credit since June, 2021.

In a writ of summons from the District Court, Kpetoe, the plaintiff, William Attiklu -who is the manager of the fuel station contends that, Assembly through the District Coordinating Director, approached him to supply fuel to some 17 different vehicles of the Assembly at various occasions to enable them carry out their daily operations.

The plaintiff avers that, he supplied fuel to the said vehicles which include vehicle numbers, GN-8828-18, GW-1365-Z, GR-56-21, GT-831-19, GV-837-20, GN-116-Y, GR-5621-16, GV-409-18, GV 521-14, GW-6687-10, GT-6255-11, ER-805-09, GP 3540, GX 2243-15, CR 4168, GT 4941-20 and GT 6997-8 to the tune of Seventy-three thousand, four hundred and eighty-eight Ghana Cedis ninety-eight pesewas (GHS73,488.93) out of which the defendant (the District Assembly) paid only Thirty thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS30,000.00).

The plaintiff contends that all efforts made to retrieve his money proved futile a situation that led to the closure of the operations of the fuel station for 5-months.

He believes the Agotime-Ziope District Assembly would never redeem its indebtedness to the company unless compelled by the court.

He’s, therefore, praying the court for the following relief(s).

i. The recovery of the outstanding debt of Forty-three thousand, four hundred and eighty-eight Ghana Cedis and ninety-three pesewas (GHS43,488.93).

ii. General damages for inconveniences caused the company and

iii. Punitive cost deemed fit by the court.
