A former Member of Parliament for Ketu South and a stalwart of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey has donated an amount of GHS275,000 to support the party ahead of this weekend’s constituency conferences.

Each of the 275 constituencies across the country is receiving an amount of GHS1,000 towards the organization of the elections slated for Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October, 2022 across the country.

The Volta Regional Secretariat of the party on Wednesday, in a statement, confirmed the receipt of a total amount of GHS18,000 for onward distribution to the 18 constituencies in the region.

The resources for the donation to the constituencies came from the teeming sympathizers and friends who believe in his dream of becoming the General Secretary of the party and his lofty vision for the party and country.

A statement signed by the Volta Regional Treasurer, Daniel Agboka-Dzegede said, “The NDC Volta Regional Secretariat through the office of the Regional Treasurer has received an amount of GHS18,000 from Hon. Fifi Kwetey to support all the 18 constituencies ahead of the upcoming constituency conference this weekend.”

Checks show that the situation is the same across all the constituencies in the other 15 regions.

Mr. Fifi Kwetey who has announced his intention to contest the position of a General Secretary has received endorsement and support from across the country since he announced his intention.

Fifi Fiavi Kwetey is a well-known figure in the NDC having served the party in various positions including serving as a Propaganda Secretary.

The former Agric Minister is considered to have played a significant role in the campaign that brought the NDC into power in 2008.
