Ghanaian lawyer and human rights activist, Anthony Akoto Ampaw, passed away on October 20, 2023, at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC).
Sources closed to his family have confirmed his demise.
Ampaw, affectionately known as ‘Che Che’ from his university days, had been in ill health since the beginning of 2023.
Notably, he was a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party’s legal team during the Electoral Petition of 2013.
His contributions to the legal field and his advocacy for human rights have left a lasting legacy, and his passing is mourned by many.
