Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the results of the 2023 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

The release, made today on the 28th of November 2023, details that, out of a total of 598,839 results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC),585,797 candidates qualified for placement.

Notably, a significant improvement compared to the previous year, with 477,772 candidates, constituting 81.56%, automatically securing spots in one of their preferred choices.

However, challenges persist for 108,025 candidates (18.44%) who could not be matched with any of their selected choices.

In response, the GES introduces the Self-Placement module, allowing candidates to manually select from available schools.

The Self-Placement module offers candidates the opportunity to choose a school based on their preferences, including region, residential preference, school, and program of choice. It allows flexibility, enabling changes until the enrollment process is completed.

Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of the Public Relations Unit at GES, emphasizes the merit-based nature of the Computerized School Placement and issues a warning against fraudulent individuals promising to alter school assignments in exchange for money.

Heads of educational institutions are instructed to commence registration and orientation activities starting from the 4th of December 2023.

It is expected that this year’s process will be less chaotic compared to previous years.
