As if they were accompanying a newcomer to the game of controversies, two persons who have been in the media for headlining news on political tensions found themselves within the mini crowd that followed NDC’s Manhyia South Constituency Organizer Alhaji Mustapha Alhasan to the Ashanti Region Police Command.
Alhaji Mustapha was invited by the police for threatening political violence in a video that has gone viral.
He was turned over to the Police Criminal Investigation Department in the company of Regional Executives of the NDC.
The Suame Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress Razak Kaumpa Avoliya, the gentleman who was also turned over to the police in similar fashion on February 8, 2023, just a little over a year ago, was present.
He was spotted even before the accused arrived at the party’s headquarters to be convoyed to the police command.
Kaumpa was tried for offensive conduct after a video of him, calling on party supporters to be prepared to defend the party’s 2024 election bid, even if it meant killing people, went viral.
The second of the musketeers was Alhaji Abubakar Elhassan aka Abuba – the NPP Manhyia South constituency organizer.
He is the gentleman who provoked the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Bernard Antwi Boasiako otherwise Chairman Wontumi, to make some statements which were construed to have offended the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Not only is Abubakar Alhassan a direct opposite man to the accused Mustapha Alhasan as both are organizers for the NPP and NDC respectively in the same constituency; the two are actually blood brothers.
Another interesting point worth noting was that whereas others felt the accused was in an uncomfortable setting; Mustafa Alhasan was apparently among his friends and customers.
Mustapha Alhasan is a fashion designer who sows customized African wear. He enjoys huge patronage from the police command sewing for several police officers.
Meanwhile Mustapha Alhasan has been granted bail after being charged with offensive conduct and threat on lives.
He is expected to report to the police headquarters on Monday 26TH February while police processes a docket to commence prosecution.
