The 2nd edition of Women of Valour, a creation of multiple award-winning broadcast journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah has been launched with star studded personalities announced as honorees.

The Inaugural edition in 2023 was a limited event, albeit free, that saw over 600 young women empowered through stories of triumph, loss and struggles shared by the speakers – renowned Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, award-winning presenter Julia Stuart, former Electoral Commission boss Charlotte Osei, Ghanaian entrepreneur Eugenia Baffour Bankoh and many others.

The 2024 Women of Valour are filmmaker, Shirley Frimpong-Manso from Ghana, silver screen actress from Nigeria Rita Dominic and South African media personality Bonang Matheba.

Creator of Women of Valour, Nana Aba Anamoah talks inclusion with prompts on women of all classes in society, especially those in leadership to support the growth of one another.

“Most importantly as women, wherever we find ourselves, I want you to remind yourselves constantly, that inclusion is important. We need to push for inclusion. If you are a woman in leadership position, you need to be there for the other woman. If you cannot hold another woman’s hand and help them grow, then you are not worth your sort ” Nana Aba Anamoah openly shared.

At the launch event in Accra’s NsuomNam Seafood and Fish Restaurant, Ambassador of Switzerland to Ghana, Her Excellency Simone Giger expressed excitement about the platform created by Nana Aba Anamoah, stressing the need for collaboration to foster gender equality.

“What Ghana needs for the advancement of greater equality on the large scale, is women working together and forging alliances and being deliberate about it. I love this platform as a deliberate avenue for women to receive inspiration and do something wonderful together. Alone, we can do so little, together, we can do so much”, She said.

This year’s event will again feature Founder, Ignite Youth Empowerment Initiative, Obuobia Darko-Opoku and CEO for SG Etiquette Consulting, Sika Goka.
