The Youth Manifesto Coalition Team and the Youth Core group have presented a copy of the Ghana Youth Manifesto document to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The urged the NPP to consider its forty-three (43) recommendations on youth development issues as well as incorporate the issues in the formulation of their Manifesto ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The Youth Manifesto Coalition reiterated to the NPP that currently the top 3 priorities of the youth are employment, education and skills development and good governance and accountability.

Others include quality health care and gender equality. The coalition is of the view that if the NPP incorporates the issues in the Ghana Youth Manifesto it will automatically contribute to addressing some of the development concerns and priorities of the Youth.

Receiving the Youth Manifesto on behalf of the party, the Deputy General Secretary indicated that even though the government is taking steps to address some of the problems highlighted in the manifesto, they will take the contents of the Youth Manifesto serious even as they are yet to constitute their Manifesto Committee.

He added that youth issues are of key concern to the party and they will ensure to engage further on the manifesto survey for its details.

The engagement of the NPP is part of the political parties engagement program under phase 4 of the Ghana Youth Manifesto project activities. It is a collaboration with youth focused CSOs with FOSDA as the lead CSO supporter and support from OXFAM.

The Ghana Youth Manifesto is the result of a survey of 3,565 respondents between age 15-35 across the 16 regions of Ghana.

It is the 3rd in the series of the Ghana Youth Manifestos since 2012 and it seeks to amplify the voices of the Ghanaian youth as active influential stakeholders in the civic, democratic and socio-economic spaces.
