Ghana duo Benjamin Azamati and Barnabas Aggerh have advanced to the final of the men’s 100m event at the ongoing African Games.

The two sprinters were among three Ghanaian athletes who made the semifinals after overcoming their respective heats, alongside Sarfo Ansah.

Aggerh advanced to the final after placing second in heat 1 with a time of 10.42s, while Ansah finished fifth in the same race.

Azamati secured a spot in the 100m finals after finishing 2nd in the semifinal heat 2 in 10.41s, while Emmanuel Eseme of Cameroon won the race in 10.23s.

In the women’s event, Mary Boakye, the only Ghanaian to reach the final, is set to aim for a podium finish in the women’s event.

Hor Halutie and Benedicta Kwartemaa failed in their attempts. Meanwhile, the final of the men’s 100m event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19.
