Fire gutted a section of the Madina Market in Accra, on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the fire started around 9:20 pm and destroyed items worth millions of Ghana cedis.
Firefighters had difficulty dousing due to illegal structures at the market.
Eyewitnesses also disclosed that about five fire tenders at the fire scene had all run out of water.
However, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
