As the world becomes more complex in technology advancement, marketers are being urged to leverage the opportunities provided by AI in order not to be left behind.
Speaking at a conferment of chartered marketers and induction new Chartered Institute of Marketers Ghana, CIMG members ceremony, President of CIMG, Dr. Daniel Kasser-Tee urged newly inducted and existing members to leverage the emergence of Artificial Intelligence to strengthen their professional delivery to contribute meaningfully to economic development of the country.
“It is imperative, in this era of rapid technological advancements for you to embrace new and emerging technologies, particularly the evolving Artificial Intelligence technology to support and promote your work as Marketers,” he charged the new inductees.
“This is because AI offers unprecedented opportunities for you to gain deeper insights into customer behaviours, enhance personalisation, and optimise marketing strategies. By leveraging AI, you can stay ahead of the curve, ensuring your marketing efforts are innovative, customised and effective.”, Dr. Kasser-Tee added.
Dr. Kasser-Tee also implored the marketers to utilize their crucial role in transforming industry narratives.
“Your role is crucial in transforming industry narratives and maintaining high standards. Encourage your organisations to steer clear of unprofessional marketing conduct in favour of sound strategies to create customer value as a means to growing businesses. This will help you build stronger relationships with your customers, as customer satisfaction will be guaranteed, which will in turn promote customer loyalty,” he implored.
Deputy Managing Director (Corporate Services) at Consolidated Bank Ghana, and newly inducted fellow Nana Ama Poku, on behalf of the inductees urged the new inductees to harness their collective talents to sustain the growth of businesses.
“Let’s embrace the journey with a shared vision and commitment to the Institute, harnessing our collective talents as shining examples in our various fields of endeavour. Marketing is the oxygen that sustains businesses, helping them identify opportunities for growth and making sense of markets and consumer behaviour. Let us be worthy suppliers of this much needed oxygen as we chart a course toward progress, growth, and success.
In all, the CIMG inducted and conferred a total of 84 members out of the 100 that applied. They comprise; 2 corporate members, 2 fellow members, 54 full members, 21 associate members, 5 emerging associate and 2 graduate members from the December 2023 and June 2024 cohort.
