Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy has set a historic record as the first African artiste to achieve two billion streams in the United Kingdom. The milestone was celebrated during his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London on Monday night, where he was presented with a Brit Plaque in recognition of this remarkable feat.

This achievement comes just weeks after Burna Boy received a Brit plaque for surpassing one billion streams at his sold-out London Stadium concert in June. In a viral video capturing the moment he received the two billion streams plaque, Burna Boy expressed his gratitude, stating, “I fought for it. Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Then, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right.”

One of the presenters remarked, “You already have it. You don’t need to fight,” to which Burna Boy responded, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”

The acclaimed ‘African Giant’ has consistently made headlines with his electrifying performances across Europe and beyond. In the first half of the year, Burna Boy has performed at major concerts, selling out venues in the UK and solidifying his global appeal as the “Afrobeat Ambassador.”
