Media attache of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) with team Ghana, Benjamin Willie Graham has revealed the team is vigorously training in Strasbourg, France with no distractions ahead of the Olympic games.
The team departed Ghana on July 11 and has been training vigorously for nine days to the start of the Olympic Games on July 26.
Speaking on THE GAME on GHOne TV with Benjamin Yamoah and Monica Bukari, Benjamin Willie Graham stated that the athletes are in great shape, and relaxed and their playful antics are exciting to watch.
“It’s been amazing so far, we meet up almost every day, and our doctors and physio are always working on the athletes any time an athlete feels a little bit knocked somewhere they are quick to call the physio and rush to their rooms and get them sorted.
“They have their timelines in terms of the training and schedules, whether is the gym work or they have to be on the field.
These are all discussed in the morning during breakfast, and we fix all the activities” he said.
“The athletes are in great shape and if you come and see the jokes they throw around on each other, I’m particularly excited to see that at the end of the day, there is no pressure at all on them as they just relax and go through their normal work out”.
“They are just looking forward to a big opportunity to meet their colleagues at the games village and then they start the necessary work”.
The Ghanaian team for the games includes eight athletes, featuring the 4×100 meter relay team, Sprinters Benjamin Azamati and Rasheed Sameenu and jumper Rose Yeboah in track and field, Joselle Mensah and Harry Stacey in swimming.
They will continue preparations in Strasbourg until July 22, when they will leave for the games village in Paris.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held from Friday, July 26, 2024, to Sunday, August 11, 2024.
