Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized the economic policies of President Akufo-Addo’s government.
In an interview on Star Chat with Bola Ray, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo expressed his disappointment with the government’s policies, saying, “They are all still hanging. They brought economic wizkid, but today look at the state of the dollar. You don’t want to praise the government for that.”
Dr. Ofosu Ampofo further stated that he had assessed the government’s policies, including the One District, One Factory initiative, but had not seen any tangible results.
“I went to the Eastern Region and didn’t see any factory. I didn’t see any factory in Abuakwa North, New South, or anywhere else in my region.”
He also expressed disappointment with the One Village, One Dam initiative, saying, “I went to the north and didn’t see any dam. They are playing football where a dam has been constructed.”
Dr. Ofosu Ampofo further stated “Planting for food and jobs is a failure. Economic policies have failed. Unemployment is about 14% plus. Which of their policies should I even look at?”.
