The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to take power in the 2024 elections, Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the party’s former National Chairman has said.

In an interview on Star Chat with Bola Ray, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo expressed confidence in the party’s preparations for the upcoming elections.

“I believe that the NDC is very ready to take power,” Dr. Ofosu Ampofo said, citing the party’s reorganization efforts after the 2020 election loss. “We did a national review, a comprehensive review of the elections, and we’ve reorganized ourselves from the branch to the ward, to the constituency, to the regions, and the national level.”

Dr. Ofosu Ampofo emphasized that the party is “battle ready” for the 2024 elections, with a new executive headed by the new chairman continuing the trajectory set by the previous leadership. “They are doing very, very well,” he said. “Everyone is doing very well,” the former Chairman added.

When asked about the contest between him and former General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo stated, “I think that it was in my right to contest. I’ve never regretted contesting.”

He also emphasized the importance of teamwork and unity within the party, saying, “We want us to remain focused and work together as a team.”

With the NDC’s reorganization and unity, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo is confident that the party will emerge victorious in the 2024 elections. “I can assure you that the NDC is battle-ready to win the 2024 elections,” he said.
