Ghanaian actress and television host, Nana Ama McBrown, has shared her personal views on marriage, recommending that women consider marrying after the age of 35 and men after 40.

Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Thursday, August 22, 2024, McBrown highlighted the potential dangers and hardships that can come from rushed relationships.

“I always tell people that if I could be a child again, and I was to think about marriage, it would be after 35. If I were a man, I would think about marriage after 40 or probably 45,” McBrown advised.

“Think of marriage after 35 or get married after 35,” she reiterated. McBrown explained that her personal journey had taught her the value of patience and careful consideration in choosing a life partner.

“What I have gone through, I was happy that every man I went through, I didn’t end up getting shot, stabbed with a knife, or beaten up,” McBrown stressed on the consequences of raising a child without proper guidance or training.

“If you don’t take care, that child will end up in prison, give birth to 3, 4, 5, a whole lot, and society gets to judge them,” she stated.

McBrown also touched on the challenges of raising children in today’s world, where societal influences can often lead them astray. “One can have a child that she can cater for, but the child will still go out there and someone will deceive her with fried rice and sleep with her,” she said.

Despite the challenges, McBrown emphasized the importance of instilling strong values in children through religious teachings. “When a child gets the teachings of the Bible and faces temptation, the child is able to stand firm on the word and withstand it,” she stated, though she acknowledged that even children who know the word of God can sometimes make mistakes.
