The chief of Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains District of the Ashanti Region has revealed that he has expelled the leader of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, known popularly as Cheddar, from his land for organizing a political campaign without obtaining permission from the palace.
Speaking in a video shared on X, the Chief expressed his disapproval of Cheddar’s decision which he believes is a sign of disrespect. He thus questioned whether the ‘New Force’ leader owns a community.
“Recently, one of the politicians, l am told he’s called Nana Kwame Bediako, came to this town and held a campaign at the lorry station without paying a courtesy call here at the palace. I drove him.” the chief said, citing that it is customary for anyone seeking to engage the community for political purposes to first visit the palace and seek permission to that effect.
“If you visit my town to campaign and you fail to recognise that there’s a chief here, then you cannot campaign on my land. Someone cannot till the land for another person to harvest the crops,” he added.
He thus demanded that the presidential aspirant do the needful and seek permission before any political activity is held in the community.
As part of his campaign endeavours, Cheddar is currently embarking on his political tours across several communities across the country.
