The presidential candidate for the Liberal Party Kofi Akpaloo has said that he uses a different style of campaigning compared to that of the two dominant parties National Democratic Congress (NPP) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr. Akpaloo who spoke to Natalie Fort on the Natalie Fort show says “My style of campaigning is different, I am not following NPP or NDC where they share money to people to vote for them”.
He further asserted that his campaign team focuses on policies aimed at benefiting the country, which is against the political strategy of the two opposing parties, who focus on vote buying.
A report by the National Commission for Civic Education has highlighted the prevalence of vote-buying and how it has affected election outcomes in Ghana.
The report launched on October 23rd, 2024, identified poverty and economic vulnerability as the primary factors behind vote-buying. It stated that nearly four out of every ten respondents believe vote-buying is highly prevalent, with 38.5% perceiving it as a common issue in Ghanaian elections.
Kofi Akpaloo is the presidential candidate for the Liberal Party Ghana (LPG) and has expressed strong confidence in winning the 2024 general elections.
