The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has addressed concerns over Ghana’s energy crisis, assuring citizens that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will provide transparent and truthful leadership if elected into power.
Mahama emphasized that the current administration’s approach to managing the energy crisis is insufficient and that the NDC is prepared to tackle the issue head-on.
Mahama expressed concern over Ghana’s significant debt to energy producers, estimated to be around two billion dollars.
He attributed this financial burden to the current government’s mismanagement, stating that they are passing on the problem to the next NDC administration.
Mr. Mahama disclosed this at Dambai in the Oti region as part of his campaign tour in the region.
Mahama assured Ghanaians that the NDC has the expertise and commitment to address the energy crisis, stating, “We have the men and women who would work on the problems if we are elected to power for Ghanaians to be set free”.
The incumbent government is under pressure to find lasting solutions to the energy crisis in the country as most parts of the country face power outages which is affecting business and life.
It has therefore pushed the energy sector into debt as it seeks supply from an independent donor.
