Diana Nyonkopa Daniels, the CEO of Peace Watch, has accused ACP Dr. Alexander Agordzo of inciting police officers against the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
Speaking to in an interview with Okay FM on Thursday, December 12, she expressed strong disapproval of ACP Agordzo’s recent criticisms of the IGP, labelling them as baseless and motivated by personal animosity.
“In all honesty, I don’t know what is wrong with ACP Agordzo because he is full of hate and envy. Only God can tell what exactly he wants from IGP Dampare,” she remarked. Ms Daniels questioned the credibility of ACP Agordzo’s claim that Dr Dampare is the worst IGP, pointing out that Agordzo himself had worked under previous IGPs without raising similar concerns.
She dismissed Agordzo’s assertion that police officers’ alleged dislike for Dr Dampare influenced their voting against Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the recent elections, calling it “a big lie.”
According to Ms Daniels, these claims are part of an orchestrated attempt by ACP Agordzo to tarnish the IGP’s reputation. “He hates Dr Dampare, which is why he is saying these things,” she stated.
Ms Daniels further condemned Agordzo’s suggestion that police officers might stage a demonstration and lock up the IGP’s office if the incoming government does not replace him after January 7.
She described the statement as not only untrue but also a deliberate attempt to incite unrest within the police service.
“He is inviting police officers against Dampare, and I think he has to be arrested for his actions,” she concluded.
