The Yendi Constituency Chair of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Baba Gazali has suspended 184 members for violating the party’s constitution during the just ended election season.
In a letter to the party’s National Chairman, the constituency leader, Alhaji Gazali said the decision was arrived at following a meeting involving Yendi NPP Constituency Executives, the Council of Elders and Disciplinary Members of the party.

“The leadership of the party received several complains from other party members against the said persons in a form of petitions for a breach of the party’s Constitution.
“These petitions from the individuals were thoroughly deliberated and resolution adopted at the end of the meeting in which adverse findings were established against certain individuals in the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections,” Alhaji Gazali wrote in part.
He continued: The adverse findings per the complains made through petitions as submitted against the said persons were:
“Standing as an independent candidate against the officially elected parliamentary candidate of the party

“Supporting an independent candidate in the just ended December 7th 2024 election in Yendi constituency.
“Officials of the party who refused to work for the party in the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections,” he itemized the violations.
