The Akyem Tafo Islamic School in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern region has received items from the family of the late MP, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

The items included exercise books, pens, pencils, teaching and learning materials, bags of rice and sugar, cooking oil, soft drinks, biscuits and others at a cost of thousands of cedis.

Chief Executive Officer/Creative Director of MB Homes and Interiors, Mrs. Mariam Bonkano Asamoah Boateng who led the delegation emphasized the gesture is part of activities marking the 52nd birthday of the late MP.

She stated the late legislator was a philanthropist hence the need to emulate his attitude during his birthday even though he is no more.

Mrs. Asamoah Boateng who is also the Co-Founder of Legacy Foundation, an NGO, said the late MP was a father for all therefore does not discriminate in terms of religion as he has on several occasions supported activities of Muslims despite being a Christian.

She hinted the NGO, which is yet to be officially launched intends to support communities in raising passionate leaders with first class communication skills by developing one’s talent into a productive mind through quality education.

Being a Muslim, she therefore pledged her outfits continuous support to the Muslim community in ensuring quality education is imparted into pupils.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Imam and a teacher at the Islamic school on behalf of the school and community commended the family for their kind gesture and pledged the items would be put into good use.

The Elders of the community and the pupils also prayed to Allah on behalf of the late MP who was seen as a great leader by all.

Late J.B Danquah-Adu was killed at his Accra residence prior to the 2016 elections with two suspects currently standing trial at the law court.
