The Western regional security Council has directed the suspension of this year’s Kundum festival at Apremudo, Starr News has learnt.
The directive was issued to chiefs in the Whindo, Asakai and Apremudo area after a meeting by the security council.
The directive comes after the bloody clash between supporters of Nana Egya Kwamina chief of Apremudo and Nana Mozu also queen over the kundum celebration.
The Security Council also directed the police to provide tight security at Kwesmintsim town for their Kundum celebration.
Nine suspects were picked up by the Kwesimintsim police for questioning while reports suggest some fourteen people including women and children sustained various serious degrees of injuries such as deep cutlass wounds.
