Forestry Commission staff shot at Agormanya

A staff of the forestry commission has been shot by unknown assailants at Agormanya in the Eastern region, Starrfmonline.com has gathered.

The yet-be-identified staff, who is forest guard, is being moved to the 37 military hospital in Accra after the Friday night shooting.

The development comes in the wake of the rising level of insecurity in the country following the unresolved target killings and kidnappings in recent times.

On Friday another girl identified as Augustina, a first year student of the Tarkwa Secondary School has also gone missing.

Augustina according to Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan secured an exeat two days ago to visit her parents but never got home and has since not returned to her school.

It is, however, not known if Augustina has also been kidnapped.

Assistant Headteacher of the school, Isaac Sowah told Empire News that the matter has been reported to the Tarkwa Police Command and the family of the girl.

Mr. Sowah told Empire News that the school authorities are waiting for the Police to begin investigations into the incident.

This comes after another girl Maame Darkoa Anomah went missing since last week in Takoradi in the Western region.

Darkoa Anomah, 25, is said to have been kidnapped at West Tanokrom.

The kidnapper has allegedly warned the family not to report the case to the Police

A relative of the alleged victim told Empire FM’s Emmanuel Ohene Gyan Thursday evening that: “She has been away since last week. We have not reported to the Police because we believed she would return. Her father felt that she would return. After we received a message from someone through her phone that she was being held by kidnappers, we thought she was just conspiring with someone to play games on us, but she still hasn’t returned.

“We are getting worried because she is not that type. She is not the type that sleeps outside or stays out for long so we are getting worried now. We will now take steps to report the matter to the police”.
