Popular Ghanaian actor and singer Lil Win is preparing to release his latest music track titled “25th May (The Voice Of God)” shortly after being involved in a tragic road accident that claimed the life of a three-year-old boy.

The incident, which has stirred a wave of emotions and reactions from fans and the general public, took place on May 25, 2024, and has left the family of the deceased devastated.

On June 27, Lil Win, whose real name is Kwadwo Nkansah, made his second court appearance at the Asokore Mampong District Court. This session follows the heartbreaking accident where the young boy, Nana Yaw, seated in the front seat of his father’s car, lost his life. The court proceedings continue to capture public attention, with the verdict expected on July 2.

In the wake of this tragic event, Lil Win’s announcement of new music has evoked mixed reactions among Ghanaians. The musician recently shared a flyer of the upcoming song, which features popular Ghanaian artist Kweku Flick. This move has been met with criticism from some quarters, with people finding his actions on social media insensitive, particularly a video recording of the song with Kweku Flick at the hospital.

Lil Win, who is still receiving treatment from injuries sustained in the accident, recorded the song from his hospital bed. The song, which appears to contain words of thanksgiving, comes in response to the backlash he received following the incident. In a video posted on his Instagram channel, Lil Win is seen recording the song and expressing gratitude despite the tragic circumstances.

He wrote, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. On May 25, 2024, I was in a terrible accident with my manager @ray_moni, resulting in the loss of a young life. Rest in perfect peace, Nana Yaw. I pray that the good Lord grants your parents another child to fulfil your destiny. To all my fans, thank you for your prayers. Special thanks to @kwekuflick @kingpalutamusic & @apyagh for this project.”

The video has sparked fury among netizens, with many criticizing Lil Win’s actions and questioning the justice system in Ghana. The actor was arrested on June 3, shortly after being discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He is currently standing trial for negligent driving after his vehicle crashed into an oncoming vehicle on May 25 at Amakom in Kumasi.

Lil Win was granted GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties by the court after his arrest. He is currently recovering from the accident alongside two members of his team and the father of the deceased, who was also in the car during the incident.
