The National Democratic Congress (NDC) leaders in Pusiga have made an appeal, asking the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop using harsh language that could stir up trouble in the area.

During a press briefing, NDC Communication Officer Alale Baba Atimbila shared his worries about the divisive words coming from some NPP members. He pointed out that this kind of talk could threaten the peace and stability of the constituency, which has a history of political rivalry.

“We call on the NPP’s national leaders to quickly take action and control their members in Pusiga. If they don’t, things could get worse, and no one will benefit,” Mr. Atimbila warned, emphasizing the need for a calm and peaceful environment.

The NDC’s concerns are in response to recent verbal attacks on their Member of Parliament, Hajia Laadi Ayamba, which the party sees as disrespectful not just to her, but to the entire Pusiga community. Mr.  Atimbila mentioned that Hajia Ayamba has always worked with honesty and dedication to improve the area, and any insults toward her are also an insult to the people she represents.

“The insults directed at her are not only a personal attack but an insult to the entire constituency. We will not stand by idle while our elected representative is subjected to such disrespect.”

“Politics should be about positive ideas and improving the lives of our people, not about unnecessary personal attacks,” Mr. Atimbila stressed.
