The Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mark Oliver Kevor, has called for the arrest of Majority Chief Whip Frank Annor Dompreh, accusing him of shooting Richard Tabor, who was observing the election at the district collation center during a chaotic incident.

Confusion broke and one person was shot during the collation of the parliamentary results at St. Martins SHS the Military took over the center and escorted the EC officials out bringing the entire exercise to a standstill.

Attempt to resolve the pending declaration of the results subsequently at the Regional Office of the Electoral Commission ended in chaos.

The Eastern Regional Chairman of NDC Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor at a press conference on Monday called for the arrest of Frank Annor Dompreh.

“A former complaint has been lodged with the police and you can verify from the Nsawam Police station. We were hoping that by now an arrest would have been caused, interrogated, and whatever steps they would have to follow to bring justice but this is the situation the man is still walking around carrying his weight about and contesting a seat that he has already lost. We are urging the IGP to immediately direct his men on the ground to arrest Frank Annor Dompreh for shooting one Tabor Richard who is currently hospitalized”, he said.

The NDC claimed that their parliamentary candidate for Nsawam, Philbert Fummey, had won the seat according to their internal collation.

They accused Deputy EC Commissioner Bossman Asare, allegedly a close ally of Annor Dompreh, of interfering with the declaration process.

Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor further alleged that their Parliamentary candidate for Fanteakwa North, Haruna Appau Wiredu, secured victory with a margin of about 300 votes.

However, contention over two polling stations has stalled the official declaration.

In Akwatia, the party is calling for a re-run of 12 polling stations due to irregularities, while urging the Electoral Commission (EC) to expedite the collation process for Suhum constituency.

Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor stated that the party remains committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process and will continue to push for accountability and fairness.

The NDC has also vowed to explore all legal means to ensure their alleged victories in the disputed constituencies are upheld.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP) secured 493,234 votes (51.28%) while John Dramani Mahama (NDC) had 453,234 votes (47.12%) in the Presidential election held on December 7.
.
Nana Kwame Bediako (Independent): 6,910 votes, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen (Independent): 1,851 votes.

Total valid votes stood at 961,885, while rejected ballots amounted to 21,477.
