Apex10 partners government to support ‘Tree for Life’ reforestation drive

In a bid to combat deforestation and restore degraded lands, Apex10 Organic Fertilizer Booster, a flagship product of Kings Global Ventures, has joined forces with the Government of Ghana in the Tree for Life Reforestation Initiative. Launched last month at Nkawie by President John Dramani Mahama, the initiative seeks to curb illegal mining (galamsey) and deforestation while promoting sustainable land use practices.

The launch event brought together key stakeholders, including Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene; Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah; traditional leaders, and officials from the Forestry Commission and the Apex10 team from the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Bono and Western regions. Also in attendance were students and community members, underscoring the initiative’s broad appeal.

“Restoring Ghana’s forests requires more than just planting trees; it demands sustainable soil management and nutrient replenishment. Apex10 is designed to accelerate the growth of tree crops while improving soil health, making it an essential component in reforestation efforts,” National Operations Coordinator at Apex10, Dennis Avorkpo, said.

As part of its commitment to sustainable agriculture and environmental restoration, Kings Global Ventures donated bottles of Apex10 Organic Fertilizer Booster to the Nkawie Forestry Commission and participated in the ceremonial tree planting alongside government officials. The organic fertilizer, which enhances soil fertility and supports tree crops such as cocoa and rubber, is positioned as a crucial tool in rehabilitating lands affected by deforestation and mining activities.

The Tree for Life initiative comes at a critical time as Ghana faces mounting pressure to curb illegal mining and protect its natural resources. According to the Forestry Commission, the country has lost significant portions of its forest reserves due to unregulated activities. Beyond its role in afforestation, Apex10 is gaining traction within the agricultural sector as an eco-friendly alternative to chemical fertilizers.

The company has expanded its reach across key agricultural regions, including Greater Accra, Eastern, Kumasi, Volta, Oti, Ahafo, Bono, Western, Western-North and five (5) northern regions, where it continues to support local farmers. “With the growing need for sustainable farming, our goal is to ensure that Apex10 becomes a trusted partner for farmers and environmental conservationists alike,” Western regional operations coordinator for Apex10, Shiabu Issaka, also said.

He added that the initiative’s long-term success will depend on continued corporate involvement, government enforcement of environmental regulations, and public engagement. “However, with strategic partnerships and sustained investment, Ghana’s efforts to reclaim lost forests and rehabilitate degraded lands appear to be gaining momentum,” Chief Executive Officer for Apex10, King Ohene Obeng Asomaning stressed.
