The High Court has officially withdrawn the arrest warrant issued against the Director of Passports in connection with the alleged issuance of multiple Ghanaian passports to a man identified as Mr. Dominic Williams.
In a press release issued Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the matter has been fully resolved and that the Director has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
According to the Ministry, the incident that triggered the warrant occurred before the Director’s assumption of office on August 19, 2024. Available records indicate that Mr. Williams obtained his first Ghanaian passport over twelve years ago, with the most recent one issued on January 16, 2024 – a full eight months prior to the current Director’s tenure.
“The Ministry wishes to confirm that the matter has been fully resolved and that the Director of Passports has been cleared of any wrongdoing,” the statement read.
