Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, has praised Kennedy Agyapong for demonstrating a rare level of personal commitment to national development, arguing that Kennedy stands out as a leader who “puts his own money where his mouth is.”
Speaking on The Verdict, hosted by Isaac Addae on Starr 103.5 FM, on Tuesday, November 2, 2025, Dr. Boakye-Danquah said his admiration for Kennedy Agyapong stems from the his consistency, passion for Ghana, and willingness to invest heavily in projects that directly impact citizens.
“I think the factors for me are very clear. I’ve looked at Kennedy Agyapong, I’ve studied Kennedy. He’s a very viable voice, a very credible voice, he’s been a very consistent voice and he’s been extremely passionate about Ghana,” he said.
He highlighted what he described as unprecedented personal investments by Agyapong, including the construction of a state-of-the-art cardiothoracic centre at the 37 Military Hospital using his own resources. According to him, no president , from Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to Jerry John Rawlings ever financed such a project from their personal wealth.
“He is building the cardio center at the 37 Military Hospital. There’s not a single president from President Nkrumah who has ever built anything from his personal money… Money that he must enjoy, he’s using it to build a cardio center,” he stressed.
Dr. Boakye-Danquah further noted that Agyapong had also personally funded the evacuation of stranded Ghanaians from Lebanon, donating funds through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure their safe return home.
“You think Kennedy is the only rich person in Ghana? No, of course not. People don’t do that. And you need a leader who is a human being,” he added.
