The race for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League is becoming one of the most intense storylines in the Premier League, with Manchester United, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Chelsea separated by just a few points as the season heads toward its decisive weeks.
Manchester United currently hold third place with 54 points from 30 matches after a crucial 3–1 victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford. The win not only strengthened United’s position in the top four but also pushed Villa slightly behind in the standings.
Aston Villa, now on 51 points, remain firmly in the hunt despite the defeat. Unai Emery’s side had been enjoying a strong season but recent results have slowed their momentum, making the battle for Champions League qualification even tighter.
Just behind them, Liverpool sit fifth with 48 points, after being held to a 1–1 draw at home against Tottenham Hotspur, conceding a late equaliser that denied them a valuable three points in the race.
Chelsea are also right in the mix with 48 points, level with Liverpool and still pushing hard for a top-four finish as the competition for European places intensifies.
Looking ahead to the next round of fixtures, Manchester United will travel to face AFC Bournemouth, while Aston Villa aim to bounce back when they take on West Ham United. Liverpool face a tricky away match against Brighton & Hove Albion, while Chelsea will look to keep their Champions League hopes alive when they meet Everton.
With only a handful of matches remaining and just a few points separating the contenders, the fight for the Premier League’s top four promises a dramatic finish — where every result could reshape the Champions League picture.
