The CEO for Middle Belt Development Authority Joe Danquah has assured that the “Adu Boahen Durbar Ground” in the Juaben Municipality of Ashanti Region will be completed within the specified contract.

During a site meeting with the various stakeholders led by the Middle Belt Development Authority, Mr. Danquah said several projects have been embarked upon within the 109 Constituencies covered in the middle belt. He said the ‘Adu Boahen Durbar Ground’ will host almost every activity in the area including funerals and festivals.

Addressing the media on Friday 2nd June 2021, he said “it’s unfortunate the District does not have a place to host such programs so the Authority awarded this contract worth GHC950, 000 for the construction of Adu Boahen Durbar Ground. We assigned the contract to F-Masters Company Ltd and the project includes the VVIP, VIP, 8 different shelters with large sizes and again a place to host other prominent people including Chiefs, President and others.”

Joe Danquah noted “this is a 12 months (1yr) project so we expect the contractor to finish work within the specified period of time.

On her part, the Member of Parliament for Juaben Constituency Maame Ama Pomaah said there are other projects by the Authority but the focus was on the Adu Boahen Durbar Ground and Construction of Astroturf.

According to her, the Juaben Chief is preparing to celebrate his 50th anniversary and these two (out of ten) projects are needed for the event adding the projects are 90/95% completed.

She, therefore, expressed her gratitude to President  Akufo-Addo, the Middle Belt Development Authority, and the Contractor for bringing these projects to fruition.

Stakeholders present during the site meeting were the Omanhene of Juaben Traditional area and the Council of State Chairman Nana Otuo Siriboe, the Minister of State in Charge of Finance Charles Adu Boahen, the son of the late Prof. Adu Boahen whom the Durbar ground has been named after.
